The Oneida Healthcare Center Hospital Volunteer Department consists of adult men and women, teenagers and Auxilians who join forces to supplement the activities of the regular hospital staff and perform services which will contribute to a pleasant environment for our patients, visitors and employees. This also helps OHC maintain positive relations between the hospital and community.

Volunteer opportunities are many:

  • Gain work experience
  • Learn new skills
  • Meet new people
  • Checkout careers
  • Feel needed and appreciated
  • Perform various duties and enjoy recognition for it
  • Build self confidence by helping others
Volunteers can be seen at both information desks; in the Gift Shop; acting as messengers; doing clerical work; helping at the Diabetic Clinic and installing Lifeline( emergency response systems in homes. Volunteers do make a difference at OHC!

If you would like to become part of this very special group of people, give the Volunteer office a call (361-2049) Monday through Friday - 8am until 5pm or send an email message to twelcher@oneidahealthcare.org. Click here for nursing home volunteer opportunites. You'll be glad you did...and so will we!

Lifeline

"Mom's home alone all day. What if she falls and can't get to the phone to call for help?"

Continue to live in the home you love.
This is your life. And you want to continue living it the way you want - in the comfort of your own home - where you're surrounded by the memories of a lifetime. And where you can easily do things the way you like.

Lifeline gives you the confidence and freedom to live on your own, because there's always someone standing by to help whenever you need it: 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, at the press of a button.

How Does Lifeline Work?
The Lifeline Communicator connects to your existing telephone system.

The Lifeline Communicator offers you a built-in two-way speakerphone for clear, immediate communication with a caring Lifeline Monitor: 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year, at the press of a button.

  1. If you need help, you push your Personal Help Button.
  2. Your Communicator will automatically dial the Lifeline Response Center.
  3. Our trained professionals who have critical information at their fingertips immediately talk to you to find out what help you need.
  4. And if you need help we'll send for it. If there's no answer, Lifeline sends help at once. We don't quit until we know you're taken care of.
